Most clients need a series of 4–6 treatments spaced two to four weeks apart for optimal results. The exact number depends on acne severity, skin type, and response; our specialists create a personalized plan during consultation.
Most clients report mild warming or snapping sensations during treatment, managed with cooling and settings adjusted for comfort. No anesthesia is usually needed; post-treatment sensitivity is minimal and subsides within hours to a few days.
IPL is most effective for lighter skin tones and inflammatory acne, though suitability is assessed individually. Darker skin may require alternative settings or treatments to avoid pigmentation risks; a pre-treatment consultation and patch test determine safe candidacy.
Some improvement may appear within one to two weeks as inflammation decreases, but clearer, longer-lasting results typically emerge after multiple sessions. Full benefit is often seen four to eight weeks after the final treatment in the recommended series.
Temporary redness, mild swelling, or darkening of spots can occur and usually resolve within days to a week. Rarely, blistering or pigment changes happen; following pre- and post-care instructions minimizes risks and improves healing.
Avoid sun exposure and tanning for two weeks, stop retinoids or certain topical medications as advised, and arrive with clean, makeup-free skin. Your provider will review medications, perform a skin assessment, and recommend a patch test when necessary.
