Frequently Asked Questions

Get answers to common questions about Eyebrow Design.

Most sessions last 20–30 minutes, including a brief consultation to map your brow shape. Allow extra time for sensitive skin or minor adjustments. We finish with soothing care and styling recommendations to maintain your new shape at home.

Some mild redness or tenderness is normal immediately after waxing, but it typically subsides within a few hours to a day. We use calming serums and cooling techniques; follow our aftercare to avoid sun exposure, heavy makeup, and exfoliation for 24 hours.

For most clients, maintenance every 4–6 weeks preserves the shape and keeps regrowth manageable. Hair growth varies individually; during your consultation we'll recommend a personalized schedule based on growth patterns and your desired level of upkeep.

Retinol and certain exfoliants increase sensitivity and risk of skin damage from waxing. We recommend pausing retinoids and chemical exfoliants at least 5–7 days before your appointment; discuss prescriptions or concerns with your technician during booking.

Tinting is available as an add-on at many locations. At J Madison Spa we can assess whether tinting complements your wax during the consultation; tinting enhances color and fills sparse areas for a more defined, low-maintenance look.

Arrive with clean, makeup-free brows and avoid tweezing or trimming for at least two weeks so we can map your natural growth. Skip caffeine before your visit and inform us about medications or skin treatments.
